Think about how much dirt could be on your couch or chairs. Small particles that float around, pets jumping up on furniture, and then the transfer of dirt and oils from work clothes, fast food, and children using your furniture for what it was designed for.
A really good way to extend the life of your upholstery such as a couch or loveseat is to get it professionally steamed cleaned 1-2 times a year depending on how much wear and tear the upholstery needs to tolerate.
Cleaning your upholstery regularly will add years of life to the fabric and also keep everything fresh and clean so you always feel fresh and clean.
If you need your upholstery cleaned then call Clean Floors Carpet Cleaning Today at 843-832-7955.
Carpet Stretching is a professional service that involves “stretching” the carpet back into place onto the existing or new tack strips.
Carpet Cleaners come across lots of carpets with “sags”, these sags can be caused by improper installation, to much heat during a prior clean, or from pushing furniture around a room.
The first thing you need to do when stretching a carpet is to remove all the furniture from the room. You will never get a good stretch if the room is not empty during the stretch.
The next thing that happens is to inspect the tack strips to see if they can be reused or need to be replaced.
After the tac strip is fixed or repaired the carpet cleaner will use a kicker tool to use his or her knee to kick the carpet back onto the tack strip removing the seams and bubbles from the carpet. Sometimes multiple sides will need to be reworked in order to get the best stretch.
After a stretch good light steam clean from Clean Floors Carpet Cleaning.
When was the last time you? had your couch professionally steam cleaned? Has it been awhile?
Couches and chairs can be just as dirty as the carpet you walk on. Cleaning your upholstery should be part of your yearly maintenance plan. Here are a few good reasons to get your upholstery steam cleaned by Clean Floors Carpet Cleaning.
1. Allergies: Cleaning your upholstery can really help with allergies. Upholstery fibers tend to catch all those little hairs that make sneezing and runny eyes a side effect.
2. Odors: You just washed your clothes, ironed them, and get ready to go out. Then you sit on your couch and the freshness is absorbed by the couch stink.
3. Cleanliness: Check out the video above and see how much cleaner it will look. Steam cleaning upholstery will literally lift the dirt from your couch, sectional, or loveseat.
If you would like o
Did you know when you purchase a new home or a new carpet that it typically comes with a 7-10 year manufactures warranty?
Did you know that if there are any issues with the carpet, such as the wrong dyes, fiber issues that cause the carpet to stretch or sag, or an issue where fibers just start falling out of the carpets.
One thing you may not realize is that as part of the manufacturer’s warranty, most larger companies such as Shaw require you to get your carpets cleaned professionally at least once a year. Failure to maintain your carpets and provide the manufacture with proof of receipt can result in a Warranty Claim on your carpets being denied.
Make sure you keep copies or digital receipts of your carpet cleans. Also, make sure the Technician completing the carpet cleaning is ICCRC certified or similar industry standard.
Hopefully, you will never need to make a warranty claim on your carpets, but if you do, this should help the warranty claim process go much quicker.
I am more in the business of Customer Service than Carpet Cleaning. Does that mean I do not take cleaning carpets as seriously as Customer Service? Absolutely not! This just means that I understand the old adage of the Customer is always right is extremely important. Here are some Customer Service Rules that Clean Floors Carpet Cleaning lives by:
1. How you answer the phone: Nothing is worse than taking the time to find a service provider to spend your money with, only to have them not answer the phone or even worse answer the phone with un-professional phone skills. Have you ever called a business phone number and they just said: “Hello”? Not at Clean Floors. We understand how important every customer is and the importance of answering the phone and strong communication.
2. Set the expectation: I hear lots of Carpet Cleaners complain about their Customers. Not only is that in itself wrong, but not appreciating the Customers who keep you in business will surely back fire. Allot of the complaints from Cleaners has more to do with them rather than the Customer they are complaining about. If a Customer is upset because a certain stain did not come out, they have every right to be upset, as a carpet cleaning professional you should have set the expectation of what might and might not happen during the cleaning process. This is our job as Professionals in the business.
3. Guarantee: Who guarantees their work? Clean Floors Carpet Cleaning believes 100% in true Customer Satisfaction. This comes with our Guarantee that literally puts our money where our mouth is. If your carpet cleaner cant guarantees the work, what assurances do you have that they will step up to the plate when things go wrong.
4. Reviews. It is important to foster a relationship with our Carpet Cleaning Customers where they feel the importance of spreading the reviews of their experience with us online. These reviews are great in helping other Customers to make the decision to hire carpet cleaners.
So while I truly believe knowing and providing great carpet cleaning services are important I also understand the person’s home who I clean is just as relevant in the long term growth of my carpet cleaning company as anyone.
Have you ever used a carpet rake?
A carpet rake is a great tool used by carpet cleaning professionals to help groom your carpets before and after.
A carpet rake is an inexpensive tool that the anyone can purchase online so they can groom their own carpets.
Why would you want to groom your carpets?
Before you vacuum, using the carpet rake is a great tool that helps loosen dirt in the bottom of the fibers. With the rake you can go right up against the edges and loosen dirt. The bristles will also help loosen and agitated and hard stains on the surface of the carpet pile.
Another great feature of the carpet rake is after you vacuum, you can use the rake to groom the carpets with shark teeth , giving it that sharp professional look before guests arrive around the holidays.
Of course before or after the holidays if you need help with steam cleaning your carpets you can give Clean Floors Carpet Cleaning a call today.
Some Carpet Cleaners are not too crazy about doing stairs. Me personally I think stairs are great and can be one of the most rewarding parts of a carpet cleaning job.
One thing that tends to surprise my carpet cleaning customers is how much better the stairs look after I am finished cleaning. Allot of the time my customers didn’t really notice how dirty the stairs were for two good reasons.
Reason 1: Lighting: Typically the stairwell has some of the worse lighting in a home.
Reason 2: You don’t hang out on the stairs: The other reason is customers don’t tend to notice how dirty the stairs are is because they don’t stop and hang out on the stairs or watch tv or sleep on the stairs. It is literally up and down as fast as possible.
My carpeted stair cleaning process is as follows:
1. Brush each stair by hand with a brush .” flicking” the debris from the corners and edges down the stairs.
2. Pre-Spray with a strong Agent and let dwell for a minimum of 15 minutes.
3. Clean the edge of each tread with a brush, scrubbing in the pre-spray so the tread edges shine.
4. Clean each stair with a hand-tool, ( no rushing through with a big clumsy wand), using lots of heat and chemicals.
5. VIOLA! Now show the Customer so you can feel the rewards of their excitement about how good they look.
Cleaning Carpets is a job that requires an appreciation for a really good job. Cleaning stairs is another great thing that Clean Floors Carpet Cleaning can resolve for you. Call us today at 843-832-7955 to get your carpeted stairs cleaned today.
I come across a lot of different things in this business that would make your draw drop. Some of the messes I see can be a little overwhelming, but I love the fact that my Customers, even in their weakest clean moments, trust to invite me into their homes and tackle these messes.
From lots of dog puddles to cat infested carpets to carpets that haven’t been cleaned in 25 years, I have come across it all.
In this picture above I came across a very nice older lady that had not had her carpets cleaned since 1972. Yes, you heard that correct. 1972. The carpet was so old, it was almost brittle. She was listing the home and did not have the money to replace the carpets. The carpets, believe it or not actually cleaned up quite well. The only real shocker that day when cleaning carpets in Goose Creek South Carolina, was that I was cleaning the carpet, around a toilet that had not been professionally steamed cleaned in almost 50 years.
I double-masked, double gloved and when I was done double cleaned, but I would say the final carpet cleaning results were quite impressive. What are your thoughts on the carpet in the bathrooms? I am kind of glad that fade died out.
