A common request and service that I offer my Customers are to clean and polish their hardwood floors. We all know most hardwood floors can take a beating. But over time with kids, dogs, and the in-laws or some tenants who may have been rough on your hardwood floors because they are not there.
I want to make sure any pieces of furniture that would move from standard use in the future should be put up off the floor before cleaning. Table chairs, Seasonal Decorations, Pet water bowls, laundry baskets, and anything that would move in the future should be put up off the floor for the best final results.
When I clean hardwood floors the first thing I want to do is a walk-through with the Customer to make sure the expectation of what can and cannot be fixed is addressed. While my clean and polish restores the life to your hardwood floors, it does not fix gouges and deep scratches, but the process of cleaning and polish can lighten these things and still make them look better.
After using a good cleaner and making sure all the edges and corners are cleaned and dust and gunk free I allow a good dry time for my cleaner. If your hardwood floor cleaner puts the polish on before the cleaner has dried it will leave spots in the polish and also weaken the overall life span of the polish.
Using a terry cloth mop and starting in the furthest corner of the room I start generously applying the polish onto the floor. It is important to make sure corners and the edges of the baseboard get polished at that no spots are missed because missed spots on polished floors stick out like a sore thumb.
After all the polish is dry, I recommend a full stay off for 2 hours and then for 24 hours, socks only. This gives the polish ample time to harden for the best Hardwood Floor Cleaning Results.
As always if you need your hardwood floors cleaned and polished for $1000s less than a refinish, give Clean Floors Carpet Cleaning a call today at 843-832-7955 .
