Clean Floors uses the portable steam cleaning method of cleaning. This is washing and rinsing of the carpet. We use only non-toxic cleaning agents that are safe for your home. Our portable cleaning units have powerful motors for deeper cleaning, and they heat the water to just the right temperature. This is the only means of cleaning recommended by almost all carpet manufacturers and the Carpet & FabriCare Institute. Finally, this is the only method that can employ a rinse step to leave your carpets as residue-free as possible.

There are 2 main types of Portable Steam Cleaning we offer:

1. Standard Steam Clean- For normally soiled carpets. Deep heat steam clean that removes most spots and stains.  Upcharge may apply for filtration lines (black on edges of carpet) wax, paint, or other labor or chemical-intensive stains.  Pet Urine is a per area charge if needed.

2. Restore Service – Much more labor intensive is for multiple pet stains, very worn carpet, filtration lines that need extra attention. This includes all chemicals and treatments along with the Counter-rotating Brush Service before the steam clean.

Drying time depends on humidity levels, airflow, and the type of carpet. While it typically takes 2- 24 hours for the carpet to dry, you can walk on it as soon as we are finished. Wear clean tennis shoes or white socks to avoid re-soiling. If drying time is a concern, ask us about ways to significantly speed up the drying time.

Yes. Although it helps to avoid heavy traffic until the carpet is completely dry, it is acceptable to walk on the carpet with clean shoes or stocking feet.

Pets are a part of the family, and so we clean up after them as well! During service we recommend that you do keep your pet somewhere, they will be comfortable — not all of our furry friends like the sound of vacuums or unfamiliar people in their space. Let us know how you’d like to handle your pet ahead of time to keep them safe and happy.

Although we’d like to say yes…the the answer is no. Many factors are involved in whether a particular stain can be removed. A few of these factors are the nature of the stain, the type of carpet fiber, how long the stain has been there, and what, if anything, was used previously to get the stain out such as Resolve with Stain Protector. Our knowledgeable technicians are trained and certified and will take great care to provide the best results possible in removing spots and stains.

We clean most upholstered furniture, including leather furniture, patio furniture cushions,headboards and boat cushions.

Accidents from pets, especially pet urine, can wreak havoc on the carpet. The alkaline salts in pet urine absorb moisture out of the air and the pet urine never completely dries. It becomes a feeding ground for bacteria, which causes odor, staining, and discoloration. Minor conditions can be handled with a combination of germicidal and enzyme surface treatments. Major conditions require pad replacement and floor treatment in addition to treating and cleaning the carpet.

No, unless it is a full carpet refurbish we ask that you have all smaller items (end tables, Lamps, Etc.) in another area for the fullest clean. From time to time if there is heavy soil, we will move items we can comfortably move with one person to get under them.  We will then put it back on styrofoam blocks so it does not stain the floor.
